This page contains an example of how you can find more of the essential words.
Navigation:
The primary method of navigation is by using the links in the left margin,
although some essential navigation is by means of the links in the text below.
How can you discover more of the Essential Words?
One way would be for you to take one of the fragments which have been
encountered and saved, and find all of it, and submit it to the official JCM
Facebook page for review. When your discovery has been confirmed to be correct,
then your discovery will be published on a page in this site, and a link to it
will be published on the official JCM Facebook page.
Where are the existing fragments stored?
One place is at and near the end of this particular
page.
What programs have proven useful for this task?
One free Bible search program is "Theophilos",
(http://www.theophilos.sk)..
A similar free program is "Bible Analyzer",
(
http://www.bibleanalyzer.com/download.htm).
Notepad and Wordpad have also proven to be useful for unformatting and
formatting text, respectively.
What, exactly, is the way to do it?
Let's use the fragment on this page as an example of one
way to do it. A copy of that fragment is shown below.
010-e
In the mouth of
two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
It was established by the three verses shown below.
Deuteronomy 19:15 One
witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin,
in any sin that he sinneth:
at the mouth of two
witnesses, or at the mouth
of three witnesses, shall
the matter be established.
Matthew 18:16 But if he
will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that
in the mouth of two or three
witnesses every word may be
established.
2 Corinthians 13:1 This is
the third time I am coming to you.
In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
As you can see above, the fragment was completely mentioned in only one of
those three verses, although it was very nearly complete in the other two
verses. But the question is: how was this fact discovered? It was discovered by
using Theophilus to search in the whole Bible for two of the nouns in the second
verse, that is, for the word "mouth" and for the word "witnesses".
The results of the search are shown below.
Numbers 35:30 Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death
by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person
to cause him to die.
Deuteronomy 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he
that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he
shall not be put to death.
Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity,
or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at
the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two
more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
2 Corinthians 13:1 ¶This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of
two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
If you closely examine the results above, you will discover the reasons that
only three of those five verses are shown in the final results. One of the
reasons is shown on the page of authors. If
you look at that page, you will see that for the purpose of discovering the
remaining words which proceeded out of the mouth of God, the first five books of
the Old Testament are considered to have the same author. So it would not be
legitimate to say that any words were established to be the word which proceeded
out of the mouth of God solely on the basis of the verses from Numbers and
Deuteronomy.
More could and should be said on this topic; so this topic will hopefully be
expanded in the near future, either here or on the official Facebook page of JCM.
