Then came scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem, saying, Thy disciples, unwashen hands, eat bread. Why transgress the tradition of the elders? He answered and said unto them, Hypocrites. Well Esaias prophesy of you, saying, Forasmuch as this people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and do honoureth me with their lips, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother. And, that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Shall say to his father or mother, It is a gift, whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, he shall be free to do not for his father or his mother. Ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
