And Jesus said unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, father, mother and son or daughter, and take up his cross and follow me. And whosoever hate not them and his cross after me, he not loveth me. Whosoever shall confess me before men, him also I confess before. But deny me before men, I but deny before. Whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he come in the glory of Father and holy angels. That I am come to peace on earth? For the son against the father, the daughter against her mother and the daughter in law against her mother in law. A man's foes shall be of his own house. For what profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
