And the many women, which
followed Jesus from Galilee and ministered unto him (among whom was Mary
Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Joses), were there, beholding afar
off. And when the even was come, because it was the preparation that was before
the sabbath day, there came a man named Joseph of Arimathaea, a counsellor of
the Jews who himself was a disciple of Jesus and also waited for the kingdom of
God, and he went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus and Pilate gave the
body to him. And he took the body down, and wrapped it in linen cloth and laid
it in a new sepulchre, which was hewn out in rock, wherein never man was laid,
and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre. And Mary Magdalene and Mary
beheld the sepulchre was laid.
