Contents of this page: Note: This book, the book of Revelation, was originally ignored when looking for confirmation of statements in the first four books of the Christian extension of the Jewish Bible, which extension is called the "New Testament". Therefore no verses of this book became part of This Good Riddle. This worksheet for the book of Revelation is intended to rectify this situation. This worksheet was made from a copy of the list at http://www.muslimhope.com/BibleAnswers/rev.htm Typical layout of an item in this worksheet: Item 01] Bear witness to the testimony of Christ. Status: the fragment "and bare record of that and of all the testimony" was confirmed to be essential by these verses instead of the concept which was stated in the list. brought him near before him. Item 08] The Son of man will be like lightning that flashes Status: this concept is already confirmed to be essential; but what has this to do with the book of Revelation? 102-d Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning
cometh out of the east, and
shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of
the Son of
man be. Item 09] The wicked pierced Jesus and will mourn Status: it is confirmed to be essential without the book of Revelation that Jesus was pierced; but it is not confirmed to be essential that the wicked (or anybody else) will mourn because of having pierced him despite the fact that it is also confirmed to be essential that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Item 10] Second death Status: although there is a situation which can appropriately be described by the phrase "second death", the existence of the situation (mentioned at paragraph 019 ) was confirmed to be essential without using the book of Revelation which is therefore redundant in this instance. Item 11] Let him who has ears, let him hear Status: this concept was confirmed to be essential by the verses shown in 022-f. These verses of Revelation are therefore redundant. {Revelation 2:29} He
that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. {Matthew 11:15} He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. {Mark 4:23} If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Item 12] We must remain watchful Status: this concept was confirmed to be essential in paragraph 099 and also in paragraph 102. These verses of Revelation are therefore redundant. {Revelation 3:2} Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. {Revelation 3:3}Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Matthew 24:44 Therefore
be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye
think not the Son of man cometh.
Mark 13:33 Take
ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when
the time is. Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Item 13] We do not know when Jesus will return Status: this concept was confirmed to be essential in paragraph 099 and also in paragraph 102. These verses of Revelation are therefore redundant. {Revelation 3:3}Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. The Book of Life Status: the phrase the "book of life" is not confirmed to be essential by these verses. What is confirmed to be essential instead is the fragment "And whosoever was, that their names are yet found written in my book, I will not blot him out; but thou, thy same, shall be of the great which shall stand there." This fragment has been added to the collection of fragments as frag-004. {Revelation 3:5} He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. {Revelation 13:8} And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. {Revelation 17:8} The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. {Revelation 20:12} And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. {Revelation 20:15} And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. {Revelation 21:27} And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. {Daniel 12:1} And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. {Luke 10:20} Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. {Exodus 32:32} Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. {Exodus 32:33} And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book {Psalm 69:28} Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. Item 14] Never be blotted out of the Book of Life Status: the concept of "never be blotted out" is confirmed to be essential by these verses (and additional verses, see item 15 above) for some people; but not for other people. {Revelation 3:5} He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white
raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I
will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. {Exodus 32:32} Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot
me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. {Psalm 69:28} Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. Item 16] What God shuts none can open. What God opens none can shut Status: the words He [is] the key of David. He openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth have now been confirmed to be essential, and have been added to the collection of fragments as frag-002. Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; Isaiah 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. Item 17] Have an open door opened door Status: the words above were confirmed to be essential by the verses below. These words seems to be related to Item 16], so these words have been added to frag-002 {Revelation 3:8} I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. {Acts 14:27} And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles. {Corinthians-1 16:9} Item 18] We will receive crowns and rewards Status: although sub-paragraph 092-f confirms that we may receive a reward, the equivalence of crowns and rewards is not yet confirmed. What is instead confirmed, by the verses below, are the words "man crown fast". These words have therefore been saved as frag-005. {Revelation 3:11} Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. {Corinthians-1 3:12} Now if any man
build upon this foundation gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; {Philippians 4:1} Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, [my] dearly beloved. Item 19] We are a part of the Temple of God Status: This fragment was eliminated. Please see the revision at frag-006. {Revelation 3:12} Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name. {Corinthians-1 3:16} Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God,
and [that] the Spirit
of God dwelleth
in you? {Peter-1 2:5} Ye also, as lively
stones,
are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual
sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Item 20] As many as are loved are chastened Status: a slightly larger concept was confirmed to be essential words of God by these verses, to wit: My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth and rebuketh. He correcteth as father the son. These newly confirmed to be essential words of God have been added to the collection of fragments as frag-001. {Revelation 3:19} As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. {Proverbs 3:11} My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be
weary of his correction: {Hebrews 12:5} And ye
have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you
as unto
children, My son, despise not thou
the chastening of the Lord, nor
faint when thou art rebuked of him: The throne room in Heaven Status: This item is being revised. This was originally added to the collection of fragments as frag-007. Revelation 4:1 ¶After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Revelation 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. Revelation 4:3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. Revelation 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. Revelation 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. Revelation 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. Revelation 4:8 ¶And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. The equivalence of the words "Lord God Almighty" to the words "Lord of Hosts" has not yet been confirmed to be essential words of God anywhere. Saying
with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power,
and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and
blessing. {John 5:22} For the Father judgeth no man, but hath
committed all judgment unto the Son: Item 27] Status: this concept was already confirmed to be essential without these verses of Revelation which are therefore redundant. and see. Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. beast say, Come and see. {Psalm 50:3} Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall
devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. Item 30] Status: the concept that the sun would be darkened was already confirmed to be essential. The verse of Joel is therefore redundant. The concept that the moon turns to blood is not confirmed to be essential by these verses.
